The phenomenal growth in economic activity, concentrated in the old business district of South Mumbai, is a principal cause of the city's present problems. The Bandra-Kurla Complex is the first of a series of new growth centres planned in Greater Mumbai to help arrest that concentration of offices and commercial activity in the south.
